Terms of Service
Last updated: July 1, 2026
1. The service
Collegium is an AI study assistant that connects to your own Canvas LMS account (with your consent) and uses that context to help you understand, plan, and produce your own coursework — assignments, study guides, presentations, and edits to your own writing.
2. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 16 years old to use Collegium. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
3. Acceptable use
- You may only connect your own Canvas account. Connecting or scraping another person’s account, or sharing your login/session access with others, is not allowed.
- You are responsible for following your institution’s academic integrity policies. Collegium is built to help you engage with your coursework — understand it, plan it, and produce your own work more efficiently — not to do it for you unsupervised. How you use its output is your responsibility.
- No reselling, sublicensing, or providing access to the service to anyone else as if it were your own product.
- No abusing, reverse-engineering, scraping, or attempting to circumvent the service’s security, rate limits, or intended use.
4. Subscriptions and billing
- Paid plans include a monthly allowance of usage credits. New subscribers get a 7-day trial.
- We do not surprise-bill you for overage: when your allowance runs out, the service hard-stops (or offers an explicit, opt-in upgrade) rather than silently charging you more.
- You can cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
- We may change prices going forward. If we do, we’ll give you notice before the change applies to you.
5. Canvas disclaimer
Collegium is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instructure, Inc. or the Canvas LMS. “Canvas” refers to the learning management system used by your institution.
6. AI output disclaimer
Collegium uses AI models to generate responses and drafts. AI output can be incomplete or wrong. Always verify anything Collegium produces against your actual course materials, syllabus, and instructor guidance before relying on or submitting it.
7. Warranty and liability
The service is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Nothing here limits liability where the law does not allow it to be limited.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
9. Termination
You may stop using Collegium and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate these terms, including the acceptable-use restrictions above.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in-product. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
